The Forest Park Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Program is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 years of age but have not yet reached their 21st birthday. The program is open to those young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement.
The intent of Law Enforcement Exploring is to educate and involve youth in police operations, to build mutual understanding, and to enhance/assist the Department in its function. The education aspect provides knowledge of the law enforcement function in one’s community, whether one enters the field of law enforcement as a career or not. Through involvement, the Explorer Program establishes an awareness of the complexities of police service.
The Forest Park Police Law Enforcement Explorer Program officially began August 12th, 2010, and has nine members. Anyone interested in joining can contact Det. Scott Frey at 708-615-6235, or Det. Jarlath Heveran at 708-615-6245.
